About This Month’s Dharma Talk

The Four Noble Truths are the first teachings that the Buddha gave after his enlightenment and serve as the foundation of the path. They teach us how and why we suffer, that there is a state of complete freedom from suffering, and how to achieve it. To overcome suffering, first we need to acknowledge it in all its more subtle and coarse forms. We then need to see how and why that suffering exists, for if we are to stop the cycle of suffering, we must stop creating its causes. To stop creating its causes, we must understand the nature of reality and the path to fully embodying it. To even begin on this path, we must see that there is a state of freedom and wish to attain it. Join Namchak teacher and translator, Justin Kirkwood, for this essential Buddhist teaching.

About One Community

Each month, we come together for an evening of learning and discussion to deepen our understanding of the dharma and our connection with sangha. Led by a Namchak teacher, thought leader, or staff member, each gathering revolves around a specific topic and lasts 90 minutes.
The session begins with a dharma talk and is followed by a Q&A with the teacher.
We invite Learning Circles, meditation buddies, and individuals to join us, and encourage you to bring friends, family, neighbors, or co-workers along to share in the experience!
