A Special Weekend of Tibetan Yoga and Meditation to bring natural harmony to the Body, Breath, and Mind

    About This Retreat

Reconnecting Body, Breath, and Mind. A Weekend to Restore Balance and Presence in Our Daily Lives.

In our busy modern lives, stress, distraction, and disconnection have become the norm. Many of us move through our days disconnected from our bodies and minds, longing for peace but unsure how to access it. This weekend retreat interweaves the postures and movements of Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga with the focused awareness of Calm Abiding (Shamata) meditation.

Together, they have the ability to cultivate a sense of inner comfort and ease that flows naturally into meditation and daily life. Participants will learn practical methods to harmonize body, breath, and mind, developing sensitivity and calm focus. The retreat provides embodied tools to transform tension into vitality, restlessness into awareness, and distraction into stillness.

What is Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga?

Pronounced “koom nay,” consists of gentle massage, breathing, postures and movement exercises that heal body and mind by releasing blockages and allowing an unobstructed flow of energy. Designed by Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche specifically to help Westerners release stress, Kum Nye promotes deep relaxation, so that students can ease naturally into meditation with clear awareness and an open heart. Kum Nye is based on Tibetan medicine and Buddhist body-mind disciplines.

It is not necessary, but wonderful if one wishes to get the book “Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga.” It can be ordered here: https://dharmapublishing.com/collections/books-kum-nye-tibetan-yoga/products/kum-nye-tibetan-yoga

What are the Benefits of Kum Nye?

Even a brief acquaintance with Kum Nye exercises can reduce stress and offer a host of additional benefits such as enhanced sensitivity to body, breath, and mind and a fuller understanding based on direct experience of emotions, thoughts, sensations, and feelings without the necessity of labeling them. As stress melts away, sensory awareness is reawakened, the chatter of thoughts is stilled, and body, breath, and mind come into greater attunement so that one can live an embodied, joyful, and awake life.

As Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche says, “The deep relaxation produced releases a vibrant, intense flow of feeling that renders all experiences richer, healthier, and more beautiful.”
