The Great Shelter: A Teaching on the Practice of Going for Refuge
With Jetsunma Jamyang Yeshe Palmo | Teacher and Tibetan Buddhist Scholar
June 9, 2026
Join us for our monthly Dharma Talk & Sangha Gathering—free and open to all.
About This Month’s Dharma Talk
Going for Refuge is a commitment to taking the Buddha as one’s teacher, the Dharma as one’s path, and the Sangha as one’s companions. Refuge is considered to be the foundation of the Buddhist path and the ritual of formally going for refuge is the way one officially becomes a buddhist. This commitment can serve as a significant source of stability and focus by honing in on one specific path in a world of nearly infinite options in the modern spiritual marketplace. Join us for a talk on going for refuge with Namchak teacher Jetsunma Jamyang Yeshe Palmo.
About One Community
Each month, we come together for an evening of learning and discussion to deepen our understanding of the dharma and our connection with sangha. Led by a Namchak teacher, thought leader, or staff member, each gathering revolves around a specific topic and lasts 90 minutes.
The session begins with a dharma talk and is followed by a Q&A with the teacher.
We invite Learning Circles, meditation buddies, and individuals to join us, and encourage you to bring friends, family, neighbors, or co-workers along to share in the experience!
Address and Zoom Link
The venue address and Zoom link will be provided upon registration.
Note: We will be gathering in person at Sacred Ally this month, not the Namchak Office!
